Share the Love of Christmas

The Christmas season is a time of joy and celebration. But for many struggling families, Christmas is not such a happy occasion as they deal with finances, hunger and loneliness.

You can touch the life of a deserving family in Springfield/Ozarks this holiday season by participating in Victory Mission’s Adopt-a-Family program, where we match families in need with individuals, families, groups and/or businesses who “adopt” them for Christmas. Enjoy this season of giving by blessing your adopted family with gifts like toys and clothing.

As an Adopt-a-Family sponsor, you can help in two ways:

1) Direct Adoption

- We select a family for you to adopt and send you their profile and wish list
- You buy presents and gift wrap them
- You meet up with the family to personally deliver the gifts to them
- Take a photo of and/or with your adopted family and share it with us

2) Financial Donation

- You make a donation to sponsor a family
- We do the shopping and deliver the presents on your behalf

You can be an Adopt-a-Family sponsor this Christmas by:

- Completing and submitting the Adopt-a-Family Sponsor Application Form
- Calling 417.864.2213
- Sending an This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Please sign up by Nov. 23. Click here for the Adopt-a-Family program FAQ.

We have many families that could use a friend this holiday season. Will you, your family, church group or office staff reach out to bless them?

The Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons are the busiest and most exciting times of the year for Victory Mission! We serve special meals to our residents, students and those who are homeless and hungry in our community. We provide hundreds of holiday food baskets to struggling families and seniors. We spread Christmas joy to deserving children through our Adopt-A-Family and Sheriff's Kids programs. We give gifts and share the love of Christ with individuals in our shelters. We organize various drives and fundraising events to gather necessary resources for our ministry.

To make all of our events and activities possible this holiday season, we need you, your family, your church, your business, your group etc. to get involved. With your giving hearts and willing hands, we can bless our neediest neighbors at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Your thoughtful financial planning is beneficial to you and your family, and enables you to leave a lasting legacy to help the poor and homeless through the ministry of Victory Mission. Planned Giving opportunities include the following:

Wills and Bequests
Every day, Victory Mission strives to make the world better by helping people pull their lives together. Why not leave your mark on the world by supporting our cause through your estate plan or will? By including us in your will, you can specify that some or all of your assets be given to us after your lifetime. When that time comes, the asset/assets you specify will pass to us, and your estate can take a charitable deduction for the amount of your bequest, reducing the estate taxes payable.

To include Victory Mission in your will, we should be named as "Victory Mission, a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Missouri, and with the principal business address of P.O. Box 2884, Springfield, MO 65801." Our tax identification number is 13631683.

Please inform us if you add Victory Mission in your will so we can thank you appropriately for your commitment to our ministry.

Gifts of Property (stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate)
Making property gifts offers an easy and tax-efficient way to make a lasting contribution to Victory Mission. You will help sustain our ministry, while avoiding capital gain tax and reducing federal income tax.

Beneficiary Designations
Name Victory Mission as a beneficiary in your life insurance policy and/or retirement accounts. This is a simple way to give that provides you with tax advantages as well.

Trusts
A trust can help you manage your assets in a prudent and flexible way. It allows you to design a financial plan that meets your current needs and the needs of beneficiaries who survive you. With a trust, you can protect your assets, cut estate settlement costs and reduce taxes. Among the types of trusts are Living Trust, Testamentary Trust, Charitable Remainder Trust and Charitable Lead Trust.

Planned gifts can take as many forms as a good imagination inspired by love can dream up. We look forward to help you explore your options as you consider making a long-lasting gift to us. If you have any questions, please call 417.864.2226.
