REACHING HANDS ... TOUCHING HEARTS 

Ron Merritt is a long-time Victory Mission volunteer and we don't know what we'd do without him! He started his volunteer "career" working at the intake desk in our men's shelter. Because he was an educator, he was later asked to teach an anger management class to the men in our recovery program. Now he also teaches courses in Victory Trade School's (VTS) PREP discipleship program and helps men prepare for their GED exams.

But his efforts don't end there. He assists with many of our special events, such as  Back-to-School and Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets assembly; mentors men in our 12/12 program; and serves on a committee that supports VTS.

Why does he do all of this? Like so many of our volunteers, Ron will tell you what drew him to the Mission was his desire to follow in Jesus' footsteps. To move among society's oppressed and downtrodden. To care for the least and the lost.

God has blessed all of us with ways we can uplift the homeless and poor. He calls volunteers to share their time and talents. He places on the hearts of many the desire to share their fervent prayers. And He leads others to give financially.
